What does the parents' council do?

The Parents’ Council in the kindergarten and after-school care center has several important tasks aimed at representing the interests of parents, promoting communication between parents, educators and the facility management and supporting the quality of care and education of the children. Here are some typical tasks of the parents’ council:

  1. Representation of interests: The parents’ council acts as a representative of the parents’ interests vis-à-vis the facility management, the provider and other relevant bodies. It is committed to ensuring that the concerns and needs of parents are heard.
  2. Communication: The parents’ council promotes communication between parents, educators and the daycare center management. For example, they can organize parents’ evenings to pass on information and facilitate exchange.
  3. Participation in decisions: The Parents’ Council has the right to participate in important decisions affecting the facility. This includes, for example, the creation and modification of concepts, issues relating to opening hours and the use of financial resources.

Every third Friday of the month, the parents’ council organizes a parents’ café together with the Kinderhaus, offering parents the opportunity to exchange ideas or address concerns directly in a relaxed atmosphere.
