When the children arrive at our house after school, they are greeted at reception. The child then goes to the wardrobe where they can change and put their school bag away in peace and quiet. The child then hangs their magnetic picture on the board in the room where they would like to be. Self-determination in after-school day care allows children to decide whether they want to play first, have lunch or start their homework straight away. This promotes their personal responsibility and independence. The options take individual needs into account and support the development of time management and decision-making skills. In this way, the children learn to set priorities and to organize their daily routine independently, which is of great importance for their personal development.

In after-school care, children have the freedom to complete their homework within a set time frame. The self-selected time allows students to work independently. The staff accompany the children, encourage them to recognize mistakes themselves and to check tasks independently. The team offers support, promotes motivation and encourages the children to persevere with challenging tasks. This approach strengthens independence, promotes the ability to make mistakes and gives the children room for individual development.

There is no supervised homework time on Fridays. Fridays are primarily used for children’s conferences and joint projects and activities.

From 11:30 – 13:30 the children can have lunch in the children’s restaurant. The children’s restaurant in the after-school care center offers the children the opportunity to eat together and promote social skills. It promotes independence, as the children are actively involved in the process, from choosing the food to setting the table. Eating together strengthens the sense of community and teaches table manners. The after-school care center attaches great importance to a balanced diet, which promotes the health and well-being of the children. The children’s restaurant creates a positive atmosphere in which the children can take responsibility for their actions and experience themselves as part of a community.

In the after-school care center, the time after school is a mixture of free play and targeted activities that fulfill the educational mission in accordance with the BEP (Bavarian Education and Upbringing Plan). The children have the freedom to choose their own activities, which encourages their own initiative and creativity. This is supplemented by targeted activities aimed at the children’s individual needs and areas of development. The after-school care center is based on the educational concept and focuses specifically on social and cognitive development. The variety of activities in the after-school care center enables the children to spend their free time in a meaningful way and promotes their personal and social development within the framework of the Bavarian education and upbringing plan.

The Kinderhaus offers the following vacation booking options:

• 15-29 vacation days
• 30-44 vacation days

including early and late working hours. During the vacations, children must be at the facility by 09:00. A survey is carried out before each vacation period to determine which children will be attending during their booked vacation time. This flexible arrangement allows parents to adapt the care to their individual needs and supports effective planning on the part of the facility.
